Special Olympics New Hampshire (SONH), is very strict in requiring that all Athletes and Volunteers keep their paperwork current. Forms that are submitted must be filled out completely. All Athletes and Volunteers must be fully compliant in order to participate in Special Olympics.
Nashua Special Olympics, (NSO), needs lots of Volunteers to run this program, please consider volunteering. If you have any questions as to whether you are compliant, please email Laurie Heskett firstname.lastname@example.org

Volunteers who have not completed this are prohibited by the State from participating in Special Olympics, so please, take 15 minutes right now as you are reading this message and go to the Protective Behaviors course on SONH.org and complete it. From http://www.sonh.org/, there is a link labeled "Protective Behaviors" in the upper right corner, click it, and then on the next page select “Click Here” under “Want to do the Training”. Email your Protective Behaviors Test ID number to Laurie at email@example.com to insure you get credit for completing.
In order to get information about what is going on at NSO you need to be registered on this website. Go to http://www.nashuaspecialolympics.org, click on “Register”, fill in the information and follow the directions
It will typically take a few days for confirmation. After registration is confirmed, you will start receiving informational emails, be sure to check your Junk/Spam folder to insure NSO emails didn’t go there.
We offer several sports throughout the year. On the left column of the website there is a link to “SPORTS_TIMELINE” which shows which sports are held during the year. Some of our sports are Unified. A Unified Sport is an initiative that combines an approximately equal number of Special Olympics Athletes and Athletes without intellectual disabilities (Unified Partners) on the same sports teams for training and competition.
SONH charges assessment fees for each Athlete and Volunteer registered for Regional and State events. Assessment fees range between $30 and $75 per person. It is important to work with your coaches to ensure registration is accurate, and NSO only gets charged for those Athletes and Volunteers who actively participate in events. Some sports include overnight stays; we ask that these housing fees be covered by the participants. Some sports such as Alpine Skiing and Bowling have practice fees and we ask that these fees be covered by participants as well. Combining assessment fees, equipment expenses, and facilities, the yearly operating budget for NSO is over $30,000 per year. This is 100% fundraised and we need everyone’s help.
We ask EVERYONE TO participate in at least one of our two fundraisers.
The Penguin Plunge is a Special Olympics New Hampshire fundraiser. 50% of funds raised by NSO participants goes to NSO. Minimum fundraising is $350. Go to SONH.org for more information.
The Pelham 5K Road Race, held in September during Pelham Old Home Days, is a Nashua Special Olympics fundraiser. 100% of funds raised goes to NSO. This fundraiser requires many Volunteers, from its dedicated committee, to securing sponsors for the event, to help on the day of the race.
Thank you for contacting Nashua Special Olympics and we look forward to meeting you.
